Monster types
From Triangle Wizard Wiki
The game contains many different types of monsters. This page gives a short description of each type. Note that monsters are very much like player characters and share the same statistics such as health, magic system and resistances.

[edit] Normal
Normal monsters are monsters without any special modifiers. Most creatures you'll meet in the game are of this type. The specific monsters present in each level are random but determined by the dungeon level although there is a small chance monsters are found in places where they usually aren't. Each normal monster has a 1.3% chance of being promoted to champion status during level generation.
[edit] Champion/Hero
Champions are like hero monsters but have gained several random bonuses. For example a monster may obtain the ability to cast certain spells or walk over lava. This usually makes them harder to defeat but they're also worth more experience points and gold. All heroes gain a 200% bonus to their health and level when obtaining champion status.
You can recognize heroes by their small golden aura. They also have a unique silly sounding name.
[edit] Unique
There is a 16% chance that a random level contains a unique monster (although some are guaranteed to have one). A unique monster has a unique name and abilities and is not based on a normal monster. They are usually much more powerful than all other creatures in the dungeon, with the exception of boss creatures.
Some uniques have a small band of loyal henchman with them. These minions have increased health compared to normal monsters. The chances of such followers appearing are 35%. There are also some unique creatures to be found that will attempt to ally with you.
They have an aura which can be of any color.
[edit] Boss
Bosses can be compared to super-unique creatures as found in for example Diablo II. They appear only in unique levels and have many powerful abilities. Some of them may even cast spells that no other creature can, such as the Time Clone: Present spell cast by Arlac.
Boss creatures cannot be charmed or otherwise persuaded to join you unless they do so voluntarily.
Like unique creatures bosses have a colored aura. Some very powerful bosses have a large aura.
[edit] Deceased adventurers
If you happen to die in the game and you've permadeath on, you may return to haunt future adventurers. If you meat such a deceased character be very careful; their abilities may have been increased through death. Deceased characters function like unique creatures.
